Located at 3395 Airport Road, Pinehurst, Sandhills Horticultural Gardens (a part of Sandhills Community College) will keep you busy for hours as you stroll along the trails and admire the beautiful gardens and natural greenery. They are open to the public every day of the year from dawn to sunset and offer an educational adventure to people of all ages.

Inspired by classical English design, The Healing Garden at Clara McLean House in Pinehurst, boasts traditional elements with whimsical touches.  Paths lead the visitor to garden rooms with seating for quiet reflection or to simply admire the view.  For younger visitors, the children’s garden offers fun and discovery and even some life-size chess and checker boards! The public is welcome to take a self-guided tour of the garden and is asked to sign the guest book in the lobby.​

The Weymouth Center gardens and grounds are open free to the public, daily during daylight hours. Former estate of author and publisher James Boyd II, this 26 acre estate includes extensive gardens, urban forest, and is the gateway to the oldest remaining longleaf pine forest - home of the oldest living longleaf pine tree.
